Artistic Statement:

“In an era where the other is often framed as the opposite of oneself, a potential enemy, an embodiment of an irreducible and irreconcilable alterity, continuing to believe that the more we gather, the more we love, stands as an act of resistance.

This very love is at the heart of a new creation where the choreographer will push dramaturgical complexity further and involve a larger group of performers. The piece will explore the almost absurd tension between love and catastrophe, through a approach that does not exclude humor. How does love survive catastrophe, or the promise of catastrophe? How does the collective group serve as a source of strength in the face of it?

Where Tendre Carcasse (created in 2023) answered its own questions through unison, this piece moves toward polyphony, where the autonomous journeys, stories, and dramaturgies of each individual performer feed into a more fragmented narrative—a juxtaposition of scenes and elements (text, music, gestures, solos, duos, trios, collective movement). The project thus marks a progression along an artistic path: following the 2021 solo Nos corps vivants, which carried the sole voice of the choreographer-performer, and Tendre Carcasse, where four distinct voices were guided onto a shared path, this creation will bring to light different viewpoints that coexist. In this way, the form fully reflects the subject matter—a questioning of love and the possibility of coexisting today.”
