Disobedience. Thomas Lebrun celebrates the carnivals of the Caribbean and French Guiana, playgrounds where madness is a right. Behind Vaval, Pleurs, horns and fwèt. consists of three solos that bring to life figures that are both profane and sacred: the red devil, the mourner and the crack of the whip embody the memory of the body to the rhythm of Emmelyne Octavie’s words. The festival as the ultimate form of resistance.
