Miscellany of Khon

With the support of the Thai Ministry of Culture – Department of Fine Arts and the National Theatre of Bangkok – Office of Performing Arts.

A change of scenery. How can we reinvent a heritage without betraying its essence? Khon, a masked dance theatre form from Thailand, is a total art form, a ritual with unchanging codes. Far from being a mere re-enactment, Jitti Chompee bridges the gap between this sacred dance and contemporary creation. Performed by the artists of the National Theatre of Thailand, Miscellany of Khon draws on the roots of mythology to offer new perspectives on the tradition.
