The City of Roubaix and the DRAC Hauts-de-France entrust the Gymnase with the coordination of the Local Artistic Education Contract - CLEA - exclusively intended for the institutions and residents of Roubaix and based on the theme of Urban Dance.
The City of Roubaix and the Hauts-de-France Regional Directorate for Cultural Affairs (DRAC) have entrusted Le Gymnase with coordinating a Local Arts Education Contract (CLÉA) aimed at schools and residents of Roubaix, centred on the theme of urban dance.
For this new residency project, the Gymnase has commissioned choreographers from different artistic backgrounds to showcase the diversity of styles and approaches within urban dance today, and the ways in which these can intersect and harmonise with other artistic fields. The aim was to enable each participating group to meet artists through awareness-raising and/or practical sessions during separate meetings and/or at key events centred on all the artistic disciplines of hip-hop (dance, rap, beatboxing, DJing, graffiti) and to experience spectacular performances at the Gymnase, at its partners’ venues and/or during the artists’ site-specific performances. All these encounters form a comprehensive programme for the participants and align with the three pillars of Arts and Cultural Education: encounters, practical experience and the acquisition of knowledge.
CLEA Urban Dances is linked to the Urbx festival, the Urban Cultures festival in Roubaix and the Lille metropolitan area.

Organisations are invited to express their interest in participating in the CLEA program by filling out the online form before September 23, 2026. A project alignment meeting bringing together the program partners will take place at the end of September to review and refine requests. Interventions are adapted to the specific context and level of involvement possible for each team and young participant.
